THE IDEA
Our team of FUN FACTORY designers had been creating products based on an expert understanding of human anatomy for over 20 years. Several of us were menstrual cup users, and all of us had complaints about our cups. We decided to use our knowledge to make a better option. We knew we wanted a few things: a more comfortable shape, bold color options, and an alternative to the ubiquitous pokey stem.
THE DEVELOPMENT
The development process included two large-scale product testing phases, after which we adjusted the firmness of the silicone for the perfect combination of comfort and maneuverability. Based on feedback, we made the smaller SIZE A firmer and the larger SIZE B softer.
THE DESIGN
The final product was designed by a woman, incorporating feedback from FUN FACTORY team members and other menstrual cup users.
GENDER INCLUSIVITY
Thanks to our focus on sexuality and gender education, we chose to market and package the FUN CUP using gender inclusive language and colors. We want everyone who has a period to feel safe using the FUN CUP.
THE FUN CUP RELEASE
The FUN CUP was released in August 2017 to rave reviews from sexuality writers and customers alike.
THE FUTURE
FUN FACTORY continues to design and produce new sexual wellness and pleasure products at our eco-friendly, fair labor factory in Bremen, Germany.
